As a club Dj and Mc, sheldontheturnup has a wealth of experience in night life entertainment. From club to club, bar to bar, there are unspoken rules that each person follows in order to have the best night experience possible. Luckily for me, I have a man on the streets to tell us what to do and what not to do to have a super lit evening.
1. Take a shower:
Before you leave your home, the first thing to do is to take a shower and make sure you smell good because nobody wants to party with a smelly person.
2. Dress appropriately:
Whatever clothes you decide to wear, make sure it is accepted in all places. For the guys, it is a bad idea to wear shorts because some places have a strict no shorts policy. Ladies, it is best to wear heels, as flat shoes and sandals may be rejected in some clubs and lounges.
3. Take money:
Always have money on you. Cash money. Whether your hang out is sponsored or not, it is always prudent to have some cash on you in case of unforeseen circumstances. It should be enough at least for transportation to your home.
4. Know how you will get back home:
Before you hit the club or spot, it is wise to know how you are going back home. Are you going with friends? Are you taking uber? Taxi maybe? Sort that out before you start partying. Don’t be left stranded!
5. Update your music library:
If you are going to the club, Sheldon advices that you update your music library, in other words get to know the new and trending songs so that when they are played in the club you wont be left clueless.
6. Be open minded..but smart:
People tend to have the most fun when they are not expectant. On a night out, be willing to try new things and go to new places but be careful of what you do and where you go.
7. Tip the workers:
To get excellent service, be nice to the workers especially the waiters and waitresses and don’t forget to tip them generously.
8. Avoid fights:
If you want to have a good night out, by all means avoid fights. Not only will it ruin your evening, it can leave you or your friends injured or worse dead. There’s no telling what people can do with alcohol and drugs in their systems. There are so many ways to get killed on a night out, do your best to avoid all of them and stay safe bruv.
9. Never complain about the music:
Never complain about the kind of music being played. You stand the risk of making the Dj angry and getting kicked out of the place. If you don’t like the music, just leave and go to a different place.
10. Do not drink with people you don’t trust:
Ladies!! Don’t drink with people you don’t trust. People get drugged and raped everyday. Don’t be a victim.
